Applied Empirical Economics I

PhD course, Stockholm university, Department of Economics, 2017

This course is designed and lectured by David Strömberg. It teaches methods for PhD students to work with empirical research projects aimed at replicability, efficiency and accuracy. The TA sessions are in the form of lab-exercise and I teach basics on data management, version control, and programming in Python/R/stata.

Political Economy II

TA for PhD course, Stockholm university, Department of Economics, 2018

This course gives a selective introduction to modern political economics and intends to equip the students with a set of common research tools by combining theoretical modelling with empirical methods. The lectures are given by Torsten Persson and David Strömberg and the classes around the problem sets are given by Divya Dev and Xueping Sun.

Abstract:. This project aims to examine whether privileged access to medical care by cadres affects public spending on medical in China. The rolling out of the civil servants’ medical care reform during the early 2000s in China and the political cycle turnover makes it possible to have an instrumented-DID design and this project plans to combine household medical care utilization the survey , city government spending data and city governments’ politician turnover data to provide an empirical answer.
